This assessment will vary depending on our respective backgrounds, but I assume we will be able to identify some recurring features in the open science history of individuals, organizations, research fields, projects and other actors.

Apparently the origin of this theory was the social innovation of international researchers sharing huge amounts of data. I have not seen a contemporary record which thought the data sharing was significant but lately I am seeing people post in retrospect that sharing data was.

Ask Open Science used to be called Open Science Q&A but we changed the name when we registered the domain ask-open-science.org. Everything else stays the same: We are still hosted by Bielefeld University.
